China EV & Battery Supply Chain — 2026 Sourcing Map
エグゼクティブサマリー
China dominates the battery and EV component chain, but "made in China" now spans wildly different risk tiers. We separate the tier-1 cell and pack suppliers that pass overseas due diligence from the long tail that does not, and flag the export-control and compliance lines that overseas buyers keep tripping over.
Executive view
For overseas automotive and energy-storage buyers, China is not optional in the battery chain — it is the chain. The real question is not whether to source from China but which tier, and how to verify it. The gap between a bankable tier-1 supplier and a capable-looking long-tail factory is the single biggest source of buyer risk we see.
Where China sits in the chain
- Cells & packs — concentrated among a small number of globally scaled players; this is where quality and bankability are highest.
- Cathode / anode materials & precursors — deep, competitive, and cost-leading.
- Components & modules — a very long tail of capable but uneven suppliers.
China's lead is clearest in electrical machinery and vehicle exports, which together represent the largest industrial export categories by value.
The risk tiers
- Tier-1 cell makers — pass overseas audits, have export track record, documented QA. Premium price, low risk.
- Established component suppliers — solid, but verify ca
